The Olympic Games 2024 or the XXXIII Olympiad is underway in Paris after the city of light and love beamed with a dazzling and bombastic Opening Ceremonies display. The sporting events will now take place in earnest from July 27 until Aug 11.
Paris is the second city in the world (joining London) to host the Olympic Games three times, having hosted the tournament previously in 1900 and 1924. This year, medals will feature 18 grams of iron from the city’s iconic Eiffel Tower.
