Real Madrid thrashed Girona in the duel between the top two teams in LaLiga and the Bernabeu had a great time watching Carlo Ancelotti‘s side escape at the top of the table.
The fans in the stands were having a great time watching their team and, in the midst of this festive atmosphere, when they had already beaten Michel‘s side 4-0, the fans remembered the Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez.
“Xavi, stay” began to be chanted by a section of theReal Madrid fans, who did not hesitate to join in with a large part of the stadium as the match reached the 75th minute and the three points were more than assured for Ancelotti‘s side.
Kroos and Bellingham laugh
With the result already wrapped up and the lead in the bag, the Italian coach already had a number of first-choice players on the bench.
Among them were Toni Kroos and Jude Bellingham, who, while the crowd remembered Xavi, laughed as they sat on the bench talking to each other, as captured by the Movistar cameras. No one knows if their smile was referring to the chant as they were also following the game. Coincidence?
Bellingham had a wonderful game for Real Madrid as he scored twice to give them full control of the contest, whilst Vinicius Jr was also particularly impressive.
Real Madrid have now got a five-point lead at the top of the table over Girona, meaning the title is there’s to lose.
