Presenter and model Paola Salcedo, sister of footballer Carlos Salcedo (Cruz Azul, Liga MX), was killed in a gun attack in the municipality of Huixquilucan, Mexico.
The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) confirmed the death of the 29-year-old, who presented the programme ‘Lideres del Rebano’.

One of the hypotheses that police investigators are working on is that Paola Salcedo was killed in an attempted robbery.
The municipal government of Huixquilucan reported that a call was received at the Centre for Control, Command, Communication and Computing (C-4), alerting them to an alleged direct attack on a woman from a van in the El Arenal neighbourhood.
“According to testimonies gathered from people who witnessed the alleged incident, the woman left the interior of the Bardum circus where she was, to answer a phone call. When she was outside and approached the white van in which she was supposedly travelling, she was the victim of direct aggression from another unit, whose occupants fled”, it was officially reported.

Journalist Carlos Jimenez reported that Paola Salcedo managed to reach the hospital where she was taken alive, but eventually died.
