Is the Lions secondary Super bowl worthy?

Because what, what, what in my mind, what has really happened here is the expectation has shifted in a way.

The Lions organization has truly never experienced the expectation now is that the Lions are going to be a Super Bowl caliber football team, which means every one of your position units has got to Super Bowl caliber play all across the board.

There were some real questions about that secondary at times.

I just wonder do the Lions have what they need to be able to beat the best of the best in the NFC and the best of the best in the AFC?

The way they are currently constructed there, that’s the, the answer for every single thing has to be Super Bowl or bust for this team because they are in that window.

Agreed.

I do like their secondary.

I think that they, they went out and again had a lot of self-awareness.

Hey, the secondary is not good enough to win a Super Bowl so they went out and tried to fix it.

Terry and Arnold Falls in their lap in the first round of the NFL draft is perfect of a, a pick as talent and need as you’re going to find.

And then they double up with Rake Straw after that who I think is a good young talent.

They went out and traded for Carlton Davis who is still like, you know, he isn’t as great as he was a few years ago, but I still think he has something left.

I think Brian brand as a star in that, in that secondary and he showed that as rookie last year.

So I think that they looked at what they had to do and they just said talent’s not good enough.

We need to add to it and they added some dudes and I, I think if Arnold plays well as a rookie right away and I think he will, I think his Lions secondary is good enough.

I, I just, it’s, it’s getting hard to find a weakness in the Detroit lions’ roster.

There is a really, really good football team that’s quite motivated after blowing the NFC championship game last year.

And to your question of is the secondary good enough to win a Super Bowl.

I think it might, uh, uh, you know, it’s not the best secretary in the NFL, but it doesn’t have to be, that’s not gonna be the strength.

You trust youth, you trust youth more than I do because I agree with everything you said about Arnold and R I like I, I, and look, if we’re just talking about, hey, like I put my draft Toas hat on.

I loved both those picks at the time and I love them still today out of the gates.

They will be tested so much in their own division.

I, I want it to work out.

It’s just when you’re in your super bowl window and you have that much youth in your secondary boy, you’re putting a lot on them.

Yeah, you’re right.

And, and especially they, they’ll be tested in that division.

You are not wrong about that.

But I, I think that the combination of everything is gonna work out for them.

They do have a good defensive line.

Ian Hutchinson, it might win defensive player of the year at some point in his career.

I think that helps the secondary and I, I just, I have a little more faith, especially in the young guys than you do.

We’ll see, I guess because that is the question.

If, if their secondary is good enough, what’s the weakness?
