Middle East conflict live updates: Netanyahu echoes plan for Rafah offensive in meeting with hostage families


Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the families of soldiers held captive in Gaza that continued military pressure was the only way to secure the hostages’ release, while also reiterating Israel’s intention to launch an offensive in the crowded southern Gaza city of Rafah despite a push from United States and other world leaders against sending troops there. The International Court of Justice issued additional measures Friday strengthening a January order that Israel do more to prevent civilian deaths in Gaza.
