Colombia advanced to the next phase of the Copa Amrica by easily defeating Costa Rica 3-0 in a Group D match played at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
The ‘cafetaleros’ showed their muscle against a weak Central American representative that suffered from the arrivals of James Rodrguez, Jhon Crdoba, Luis Daz and Jhon Arias to the boxes, whom they could never stop.
The Colombian dominance had no effect in the first minutes with mistakes by James and Crdoba and sometimes the timely intervention of the Tico goalkeeper Sequeira. Colombia slowed down the frenetic pace in the last quarter of an hour, although without giving up the attack, but the scoreboard no longer moved.
