The newspaper El Espanol recounts the robberies of the mansions of Cristiano Ronaldo and Johan Cruyff in its podcast ‘Sumario Abierto’ entitled “I robbed Ronaldo’s house, Cruyff’s house and I didn’t want to do it to Messi’s house”.
Carlos Quilez talks to “an Albanian-Kosovarian mafia boss who has been dedicated for more than 20 years to the robbery of high-end homes and who has come to control an army of thieves of more than 100 men”.
The kingpin, who is wanted, acknowledges in ‘Sumario Abierto’ his robberies of the homes of soccer stars with his army of thieves.
In the program ‘Y ahora Sonsoles’ he confessed that “I was the one who robbed Cristiano Ronaldo‘s house in Portugal. I was the one who robbed Johan Cruyff in Barcelona”.
The “army of thieves” have robbed Johan Cruyff, Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo
In November 2021 the kingpin burgled the house of Johan Cruyff in the upper part of Barcelona: “There I stole a watch that belonged to Dennis Bergkamp, some little things from Hermes… and about 20,000 euros of loot. It was a secondary house. It had no security cameras or alarms. When I went in, I realized whose the house was”.
He did admit to Carlos Quilez, this time in the program ‘Y ahora Sonsoles’ a robbery in Karim Benzema’s house: “Not the time they were caught. The time they were not caught, yes.”
“We were also behind the robbery of Cristiano Ronaldo in Madeira, but the loot was not interesting,” he said.
“Social networks are the number one enemy of famous people,” warns the offender, who disassociated himself from the robbery at the home of Sergio Ramos and Pilar Rubio: “They know perfectly well who robbed them.”
“I have stopped a few times people who wanted to rob Messi’s house”
The offender also explains that “more than a year ago” he was offered to rob the Leo Messi family home in Castelldefels when the footballer was in Paris, and even claims that on occasion he has prevented others from breaking into the Argentine footballer’s house.
“I’ve stopped a few times people who wanted to raid Messi’s house. I have done it and I am proud. Out of respect for Messi I haven’t done it. Because I love him, period,” he explained.
‘El Santo’: the key to robberies in the homes of footballers and celebrities
The Albanian-Kosovarian mafia boss, who affirms in ‘Y Ahora Sonsoles’ that “there is no one who can stop me or anything that can resist me”, explained his ‘modus operandi’ to rob the homes of soccer players and celebrities: “Once I have located him, I follow him, I chase him, it can take months… until there is no one inside.”
A key figure in the operation is known as ‘El Santo’: “I can’t locate any target in Spain if someone doesn’t tell me. These people are ‘El Santo’. They are people who look for us, hire us, give us details. It can be a family member, it can be a cleaner, it can be a friend of theirs…”
‘El Santo’ charges 30 percent of the loot for his information.
